Various Zigbee devices can be integrated with the iobroker using a CC2531 USB stick. The CC2531 is a cost-effective substitute for the use of HUBs, which are essential for the operation of Zigbee devices. At the time of writing, it supports 1667 devices from 240 different vendors.

Thanks to its low power consumption, Zigbee devices are ideal for cordless devices, even for years without battery replacement.
Its range can be 10-20 meters, depending on the performance and structural properties of the building, ideally up to 100 meters. This can be extended by using so-called routers. Typically, network-powered Zigbee devices can also act as routers. You can also use the Texas Instruments CC2530 insert as an inexpensive solution.

On the machine where the iobroker is running, insert the CC2531 USB stick into a free USB slot.
Installing a Zigbee adapter
On the ioBroker Adapters tab, locate and install the zigbee adapter.
After installation, the adapter must be configured. To do this, we need the name of the COM port used by the CC2531 USB stick. To get this, you can log in via SSH or use the iobroker terminal adapter. Enter the following command:
ls -la /dev/serial/by-idEnter the resulting ID along with the path in the COM port name field on the Zigbee adapter settings tab and save it.
With this we are ready, we can use our Zigbee adapter. Now we can discover and pair Zigbee devices. To do this, click on the green button in the upper right corner.
Press and hold the device reset button for 5 seconds until the LED flashes, then the device connects automatically.
The paired devices then appear on the Devices tab with basic information.
On the Network Map tab, you can visually see the connection of the devices.
On the Object tab, you will find the data points of the connected Zigbee devices.
